Tokenization

Business Case:

  • Tokenize any asset class, whether financial, digital, legal, or collectible, using blockchain technology.
  • The platform provides:
    • Customizable token standards (ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155) for different asset classes.
    • An option to update or modify asset information post-issuance.
    • Flexible sale creation, allowing issuers to define prices, fundraising targets, and distribution rules.

1. Pre-Issuance

You need to set up the legal framework for the tokenized asset. However, the Token Market Infrastructure provides a testnet that helps issuers create tokenized assets without committing to the final version.

The platform supports 3 main user roles:

  • Market Creator: Oversee and validate asset issuance, ensuring regulatory compliance and setting platform guidelines.
  • Asset Issuers: Create and manage tokenized assets, defining asset details and compliance rules.
  • Investors: Participate in sales by purchasing fractions of tokenized assets

2. Issuance

The issuance phase is where the actual tokenization takes place. It involves two critical steps: creating the token and launching the sale.

Create a Token

  • Choose the appropriate token standard (ERC-20, ERC-721, or ERC-1155).
  • Provide essential asset-related data such as the asset's total amount, address, and ownership details.
  • Define the accessibility of your market (public, private).

For more details, refer to the Deploy Your Market documentation.

Create a Sale

  • Set a Price Tag: Establish the price for each token or fraction being sold.
  • Add a Compliance Layer: Ensure that the sale complies with necessary regulatory standards, such as KYC and AML processes.

For more details, refer to the Selling documentation.

3. Post-Issuance

After the asset has been tokenized and issued, the post-issuance phase allows for ongoing management of the token. This includes:

  • Freeze/Unfreeze Tokens: Manage the availability of the tokens by freezing or unfreezing them as required.
  • Update Data: Modify or update the token’s metadata to reflect changes in the real-world asset.
